If you have been following my blog for a while you will know that back in September I had a car accident that left me in a lot of pain in my lower back and behind my ear in my neck.
As part of my physical rehabilitation back into normal life, I have been receiving physiotherapy weekly and a month back I was given the all clear to start stretching and exercising my back and neck muscles at a very low intensity, so when I was given the opportunity to try out the HoMedics STRETCH back stretching mat I was thrilled.
The HoMedics STRETCH is designed to offer a customisable treatment with precision controlled air chambers. It’s designed to inflate in certain sequences to emulate yoga style stretches although there are 4 pre-programmed settings you can actually alter the intensity of each stretch to your specific requirements.
Like with yoga the STRETCH can help release tension and help achieve immediate benefits in the shoulders, hips and back all the while improving longer term flexibility.
When it arrived I loved how it can be easily stowed away and that everything you need is all tucked away in it. The STRETCH was immensely easy to set up, plug it in and position the cushion and you are literally ready to go, which for me was great. Who needs hours setting something up when this really does take minutes.
The handheld remote is easy to operate, with clean and concise buttons meaning you can easily change the intensity of the stretch midway through, which I thought was great. I also really liked how it made me feel that I was in control of my own sessions.
It did take me a few times to find the best position on the mat as the mat is designed for people of all heights and builds. I found by moving a few inches further up the mat the stretch was better for me as it was in the right location in my spine and not too low down.
I have been using the STRETCH for a while now and I am loving the freedom of being able to use it anytime at a moments notice and I love how my back feels less tight and sore. I have to admit that also using this on the basic intensity for most of the programmes has given me more confidence that I am stretching as I should, in a controlled manner and doing it more easily than I found Yoga in a classroom.
There has been a downside to using the STRETCH however, my husband has finally started doing something about strengthening his back after his operation 2 years ago and is using the STRETCH too which means we now have to take turns!!
I’m not going to skirt round the price, it does retail at £249.99 but it is currently on promo £199.99, and if like me you use your monthly gym membership on Yoga classes, and had some damage to your spine and need to be mindful of any exercising you now do, then its money well spent in my opinion. Slow, controlled, customisable stretching just got a new friend in HoMedics STRETCH.
I am thrilled today to be able to offer you, my lovely readers a whopping 50% off using the code below:
