It definitely doesn’t take much to keep my kids entertained and especially for Jacob, he really loves the big outdoors. I’ve been thinking of fun but cool ways to get Jacob and Joshua enjoying time together outside.
It’s Not Always About Being a Modern Mum
I know lots of other Mums who like to get their kids the very best top-notch technology and for me, I really like to think my kids can have fun through the little things that life has to offer. I always look to have an adventure of some sort with my whole family, whether that be camping, bike riding, or as my Instagram post recently showed you, Jacob having fun with the sprinkler over the weekend. Jacob loved getting his hands mucky and why not? I sometimes think it’s much better for him to be outside playing instead of indoors on a tablet.
Football Comes First…
I’m sure most of my followers will agree that football always fronts in most situations when trying to keep the kids entertained and there’s no exception here! From the traditional 90’s penny floaters, to the brand new much lighter footballs, it makes no difference to my kids, Joshua had his football presentation and he had a great time. Keeping Joshua active outdoors and involved in Football is crucial for his personal development but also, I believe for his social skills. If you haven’t yet got your kids playing football, give it a go!
Kids Will Be Kids…
Bike riding is a really good way to keep your kids entertained and there are good ways to start introducing your kids to pedalling. Balance bikes for the younger ones, are a great way to start the biking adventures for the smallest of tots
Although Joshua loves bike riding he has been intrigued with some heeleys through Proline Skates. As some of his friends at school have started to wear them. They obviously offer a more stable skate than we used to have as kids with our big clunky extendable offerings.
Keep It Simple
I have found the best way to get your kids to play together and do so without too much drama, is to involve them in simple everyday tasks. Gardening, ‘lawn mowing’ (I suppose a kids one counts?!) or simply getting Joshua to help me out with Jacob, creates a really good bond between us all. However, when doing some further reading online, there was a brilliant article talking about retro ways to entertain the kids, it’s definitely worth reading. Whatever you do this summer enjoy.
