If you have been a regular reader you will know I have a love hate relationship with Halloween.
I have written before about how Halloween is like hell for me and that trick or treating is the one thing that ruins it for me.
So in light knowing what I hate about Halloween I have been looking at how people including me can make Halloween fun for the kids without going trick or treating.
My first thought was to have a party at home for the kids with some of their little pals. Although the thought of the mess terrified me so I was thinking that a BBQ Halloween party might work well and take it outside to have some spooky fun.
But with ideas lacking I was pleased to read this Halloween To-Do List from the Personalised Gift Shop that gives me some other ideas on what we can do that doesn’t include trick or treating like finding spooky kid friendly films or make some traditional Parkin, neither of which we have done before and that’s just 2 of the things on their list so it looks like we are going to be busy!
We have an annual pumpkin picking tradition that Joshua can’t wait to repeat again this year so we have planned the pumpkin picking for this week and instead of carving it I am looking at doing something a little different with the pumpkins this year and have been collecting some ideas for no carve decorating meaning Jacob can get involved too:
Halloween from this point forward will be based on fun and friendships with a little twist of spooky thrown in for good measure.
Be gone trick or treaters and hello fun Halloween BBQ.
