This week has been epic, my motivation has been on an all time high, my exercise has been on top form and for the first week in a long while the old me is back and I can see changes afoot.
My lifestyle of recent months after giving up smoking had slid back to the old old ways of excuse and denial .. and I had kind of liked it that way till I climbed onto the scales.
But this week I have been back on track in my own head, sometimes saying your want to sort it out really is all you’re doing. Unless your head is in the right place it’s never going to happen.
This week for me I have been focusing on 2 things, the first being my eating now most of you will know I was really successful with some major weight loss last year when I reviewed Diet Chef for 28 days and so with such a super loss and a massive kick-start being needed Diet Chef are back in my life for at least 28 days enabling me to focus and concentrate more on my activity level knowing that I enjoy the food and I don’t have to stress about the calorie content as it’s all done for me.
So the standard hockey training occurred on Wednesday night although so did the heavenly downpour much to my disgust. 2+ hours in the bone chillingly cold rain left me mascara streaked, sodden and cold beyond believe but by goodness I enjoyed it.
I played a hockey match on Saturday and again felt great, possibly being the first time since I gave up smoking in October that I felt my lungs were stronger?! .. psychological … who knows?
The biggest turn around for me has been my acceptance of the gym. Normally not liking the enclosed space, testosterone and vanity aspects that tend to tinge the edges of a gym, making me feel more and more inferior as a women or indeed a person I have avoided gyms like the plague over the last couple of years .. but when needs must and all that
I have been twice last week (although it should have been 3 times had I not of had a meeting) and I am off this morning again! I have concentrated on the cardio side of the gym and I have even run on the running machine, albeit for a few minutes at a time … and only when the gym was empty … after all it would be unfair to be running and knocking the poor person next to me off their treadmill .. after all I am not medically trained and the sight of blood would mean I would have to call time on my gym session.
I am aiming to try some more running this morning (preferably in an empty gym) and then hopefully I will get much fitter for my leg of the Sports Relief Bloggers Relay that sees me walking 20 miles on the 27th February … something I would normally never even consider signing up for but yet I have!
