This last month has been a very very slow one … in fact its been immensely slow as I had major surgery and have been recuperating.
I have to say I am so very grateful for the new download feature on Netflix as 5 days in hospital is an amazingly long time and with extortionate prices of the hospital TV packages I will always thank goodness that I downloaded some box sets and movies before going in!
So what has been on my Netflix viewing list recently? here goes:
Falling Skies
I started this box set series a few months back but the final season had yet to air so I finally caught up and watched the conclusion of this post apocalyptic alien drama series had me hooked from the off with a great cast headed by Noah Wyle and produced by Steven Spielberg
Van Helsing
Another TV series in my top picks and this one a little darker with this fantasy horror drama in which Vanessa (a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing) is resurrected in a post-apocalyptic world, years after her death, to lead a group against the swarm of vampires that have taken over and I have loved it with its gore and some great effects I am just gutted there has only been one season to date but hopeful there will be a second with the way the last episode was left!
Eddie The Eagle
This film is not one of my usual watches, firstly it doesn’t contain gore, horror or zombies. What is does contain is the life story of Eddie Edwards, the notoriously determined British underdog ski jumper who took on the world at the 1988 Winter Olympics with his lacking skill but his determined optimism.
This makes for such a funny lighthearted watch and even now as I scroll through the films on offer when I see this one I smile.
And So It Goes
Another film that normally is so not on my radar, however being a massive fan of Diane Keeton and Michael Douglas it had to be on my download and watch in hospital list and I am glad I did.
The story is a feel good film about a miserable estate agent loner who ends up looking after his granddaughter that he had no idea her had and only copes by letting his neighbour get involved too.
London Has Fallen
This is the follow on film from Olympus Has Fallen, where Mike Banning a secret service agent is back by the side of the President and is considering leaving the secret service as his wife is expecting their first child, however while still contemplating it he is called up to protect the President to a high-profile funeral in London.
Obviously it wouldn’t be called London Has Fallen if it all goes to plan so like the first film Mike puts his life on the line looking after the President.
This film is a must if you have seen watched the first as it really does tie in nicely and it’s a super action film.
I am just about to start looking on Netflix for my next box sets to start watching … so do share, what have you been watching?
Disclaimer: This is a collaborative post with Netflix as part of my ambassador role.

I loved watching Eddie the Eagle but oddly Netflix recommended that because I watched it I might like 50 Shades of Grey!
I’ve been binging on Suits, The Good Wife, White Collar & Grace & Frankie & am now feeling bereft without them. I also wait very impatiently for Thursday to come around & I get my fix of Designated Survivor. I need to find another box set to binge on quickly, and preferably one with hot suited men in 😉
