Over Christmas Joshua discovered a new love … Ninja Warrior UK
Its Saturday night appearance was the highlight of the weekend for him, watching the excitement build it brought back so many lovely memories of me as a child watching You Bet and betting boiled sweets with the family.
Joshua’s obsession ended in tears a month or so back when it finished on TV and he physically sobbed that the season was finished and Saturday night television would not hold the Ninja Warrior magic anymore, it was rather touching to see him so raw about something he loved. Slightly odd with it being focussed on a TV programme but still so nice to see him develop his own personality and loves for things.
Now the TV show has finished Joshua has been taking every given opportunity to step up to the Ninja plate and has now started to reenact it instead.
On a recent visit Wheelgate park we discovered an outdoor adult assault course and Joshua eyes lit up! After all watching someone else do it on TV is one thing but getting to have ago yourself is something utterly different.
After my pledge a short while ago about making sure Joshua had lots of play that involved imagination this park was amazing, he pretended to be in the lead, he pretended to be against the clock and he pretended he won, no scratch that, he did win.
He won fresh air, family time and ninja warrior Joshua style!
Even Daddy couldn’t beat my little fella, although he had a damn good try.
I so can’t wait to see all my boys playing together like this, however I do have a few years left before Jacob is big enough to play so I will make the most of baby snuggles and keep my fingers crossed that my Husband doesn’t put his hip out trying to play.
Roll on more family time and even more Ninja Warriors as Joshua is still just as obsessed as ever.
