OK folks I am not going to lie … I’m overweight.
I am under no illusion and as I slowly try to get fitter and healthier and lose some chub I still need to wear clothes.
Don’t worry I am not going to go fashionista on you, nor am I going to take photos of my oversized fat ass trying to squeeze into something too small for me.
However I am going to tell you a little bit about my recent rage.
Now after finally dropping into a size 20 jeans and having to buy jeans in a short leg I know that plus size clothing in short legs are harder to find, however what I didn’t expect to find was a total lack of jeans full stop!
After heading in store to some of our nations high street giants I have to say I am beyond livid.
I do not want to wear super skinny, skinny, or high-waisted skinny jeans or even jegging come to that. I want a normal pair of straight leg jeans. No embellishments, no massive rips or tears just a basic quality pair of jeans.
In the past the only retailer I found with standard straight leg jeans in were Bonmarche. The jeans were ok but I found the dye wears quickly and the elasticity doesn’t last long either but at £15 for a pair in there range I had just sucked it up and have kept replacing them on a 2 -3 month cycle instead.
Why is it I can’t find a single pair of size 20 short, straight leg jeans in a blooming store? I don’t think it’s a massive request, I don’t think I am being fussy.
After trawling the shops yesterday with my friend it only reiterated that high street retailers are obsessed with super skinny jeans and jeggings and I am beyond peeved.
I have instead ordered some online with Marks and Spencer’s and I am hoping they are going to fit as there are only another 4 retailers online I can spot with anything like straight leg jeans.
If you are on the hunt for jeggings or skinny jeans I bet you are having a total ball clothes shopping these days! …
For me however I don’t fancy denim wrapping my bottoms half … after all these days when I need a wee, I need a wee, I don’t have 3 hours notice and a pot of talc to hand to get me back into my jeans.
Dear High Street stores when you have more to offer in a more classic style I will be back but until then shove your super skinny’s where the sun doesn’t shine.
