Its taken 25 years to finally get my head round my own skin type and how to care for it but after years of plastering on layer after layer I have come to accept my freckles and I look for products that can do multiple things.
Over the years I have tended to buy the ‘on offer’ products for my skin care and if I am honest my face has probably seen more baby wipes than it ever should do but with small children I have struggled to implement a skin and time friendly regime. Not to mention one that doesn’t cost the earth.
o instead of reducing the time and make up products I have used I have been taking on advice from sites like www.ellisons.co.uk like the professionals do on how to make wise makeup choices and have bought good quality makeup instead of the cheaper options but on the whole I have been buying less of them so in fact I have been saving money too!
Based on my research I have gone back to basics. A cleanser aimed at my skin type followed by a toner and then good moisturiser have really helped, As has sticking to it.
I have also invested in a lightweight sun cream with a factor 30 protection too as I suffer with Melasma and during the summer months if left unprotected it can make me look like I have darker patches on my face. So heading it off at the pass and starting this summer as I mean to go on is the only way to go.
Over this last 6 months I have also reduced down my make up bag by buying products that are multifunction such as lip tints that work like blusher my favourite is the Clinique Chubby Stick which is great for doing both lips and cheeks.
My biggest beauty secret has been my love of semi permeant makeup. I recently underwent a treatment of semi permeant make up and had my eyebrows tattooed on and I am immensely thrilled with the lack of stress they have brought with them along with the sheer amount of time that it has saved me over the long term.
Another of my multifunction products is eye shadow. I would buy an eye shadow to use to fill my diminishing brows with (prior to having them tattooed on) and also be able to then use it for my lids too.
I think it would be fair to say that reassessing my skincare and makeup has made a significant time saving along with a really reasonable cost saving too.
Do you have any hints or tips on how to save time and money on Summer Skin?
