Recently we were asked if we could take a look at the super intriguing MyHummy range and see if we were interested in reviewing a product and I have to say I jumped at the chance.
If you haven’t heard of the brand before they are make a range of toys that create ‘white noise’ now I am sure many parents will remember the first few months after baby was born and the hairdryer or vacuum seemed to calm baby down and in both my little boys it actually helped them nap! … well, MyHummy have harnessed the noise and added it into baby toys and I was sent want to review with Jacob.
Being honest as ever I have to say I loved the look of my ‘Snoozy’ when it arrived with its beautifully plush snuggly material and super cute features but after adding in the 3 AAA batteries (which are not included) I slightly freaked out… now let me explain.
The unit that is zipped securely inside ‘Snoozy’ comes with what looks like just a push button so I added the batteries, pushed the button and it was loud… hence the freak out, after all no baby is going to sleep with that amount of noise …
But that’s when I decided to read the beautifully comprehensive instructions (yes I have a tendency to ‘do’ as opposed to ‘read’ and as it turns out that one button is a super clever master button as it is the controller for all functions!
To turn the unit on you hold for 2 seconds
To turn the unit off you fold for 1 second
To change sound (there are 5 available) push button twice quickly
To alter volume push button and keep hold till desired level is reached.
And that ladies and gentleman is what I should have read the instructions before attempting to play!
Once I understood how it worked it has been a dream to operate and we have our chosen sound and volume spot on.
What I also loved about this product was the feature of the automatically staying on for 60 minutes but it stays on standby for 12 hours after (Unless you manually turn off the unit) so if baby wakes within those 12 hours the sleep sensor will kick in and start him humming again!
Or if your baby cant sleep without the noise at all it also has a continuous mode that sets him off for 12 continuous hours instead.
MyHummies are machine washable (after you have removed the electronic device) at 40 degrees which means no baby spit up can stop this cutie from saving the day … or should I day night!
Overall this is a really beautifully thought out product that has harnessed the all-powerful white noise that babies love into a really cute baby toy that covers every angle on how you might want to use it with your baby.
Pricing wise they are certainly not the cheapest toy, but I personally feel that is to be expected as it really is more than just a toy and to me sleep is priceless. However MyHummy have obviously recognised that price maybe an option for some in buying and so have a basic range ‘sleep head’ that retail at £25, then the ‘Snoozy’ at £44 and then the premium range ‘Teddy Bears’ at £59 so have catered for a wide range which is a great idea to allow all parents access to these lovely products.
My only negative we have found using here with Jacob is that his 5-year-old brother loves ‘Snoozy’ too!
I am really honoured to be able to offer one of these beautiful ‘Snoozy’ white noise toy in a colour option of their choice to a lucky winner which you can enter below.
