So last week was my first week taking part in the #NewThings Challenge, which works by our family taking part in weekly challenges by CSMA Club.
Each weekly challenge it is hoped will make some memories for us and our Children, as its believed that trying something new leaves a lasting impression in your memory.
Most of my regular readers already know we love nothing more than a good game, hockey, crazy golf, football, Dobble and even some tablet games so being challenged to play a game that was new was testing!
However having recently spent time reviewing some outside games like dominoes it only seemed right to try out some other outside games before the weather turns again.!
So this week I bought a brand new game for the garden …
Yep this very old game and traditional game was showcased on our back garden this week in its full and interesting glory but what I thought was going to be a rubbish start with the teen being hit with a mallet by the toddler with tempers escalating we had to separate them and let them both calm before resuming and making friends!
Joshua particularly liked it I think as he got to smack balls all round the garden and no one told him off!
Beth became a rather fabulous teacher (even after the kerfuffle at the beginning) and I think by the end cheering when the ball went through just became the order of the day.
Maybe this will become our standard family game? or at least in the Summer anyway!
Does your family have a game they play regularly together?
