Now I am 7 months pregnant in my 3rd pregnancy it would be fair to say that nothing much phases me about health issues both before, during and after pregnancy but there is one thing that does phase me and that is our inability to be honest and open about some of the issues we face as women.
Why are we so cagey about what can and does happen not only in pregnancy but with increasing years?
It is more than normal that 1 in 2 of us experience light bladder weakness here in the UK and it’s ok to admit that is the case… there are products out there to help with the oooops moments such as lights by Tena as they are designed for unexpected leaks with their Feelfresh technology to help keep you fresh when you might need them!
I am not ashamed to say I have reached the point in my pregnancy that I have had a oooops moment and I know after my last child some months after I even had a few oooops moments but do you know what … my body grew humans and if the worst that can happen is I sneeze and leak once in a while … do you know what … so what, I would take that any day over some of the major things that could happen in life …. and until the world is perfect and my pelvis floor is as tight as it was in my teenage years …. I will just keep exercising my pelvic floor and keep armed in products to help if that doesn’t work.
What I won’t be doing is keeping silent anymore …. It’s not like I have ever got drunk and peed in a wardrobe or taxi and yet many folks take great delight in being honest when it’s masked by alcohol … why?
Lets just be more honest about everything after all suffering in silence is not going to help anyone and sometimes having support make the battle less tough!
