It has been a well documented journey here on this blog about finding a better work/home life balance and this Summer marks the first year in a while that family time is going to outweigh everything else.
The boys are getting bigger before my very eyes and I want them to remember me as their fun mum not as the lady hidden behind a computer screen.
So in light of my plan to spend as many hours as possible with the boys we are going to be taking it outside wherever possible too and when the weather allows we are heading into the garden, turning off screens and enjoying the fresh air as a family.
For me spending time as a family in the garden always involved playing games and so over the years we have invested in lots of outdoor toys and play equipment and obviously some games.
We have some very clear favourites though and so I have created our tops picks of outsides games with the help of Wayfair and their immense range of outside garden games.
One of our all time favourites is the giant connect four which we play whenever we can, however it can get fairly competitive and who doesn’t love a challenge while soaking up some rays outside!
Joshua’s newest favourite game from the top 5 has been the Quoits game. Although the score counting in the original sense has gone out the window he loves to challenge everyone.
Although he often loses when Jacob beats him by taking it away.
Money also doesn’t have to be a factor with making the most of the outdoors with the kids as things can be made cheaply and easily like water balloon and spoon races (think egg and spoon but water and you are there)
Also chalk drawing on the floors and walls outside can be lots of fun or even homemade hooks a duck can be fun and easy to make!
What are your garden game favourites? Well, here are some of my favourite free or low-cost ideas for garden games.
