I am now officially on countdown to my long-awaited operation.
I think it would be fair to say that it goes without saying that I am terrified and anxious all in equal measure.
The control freak inside is totally on a melt down and after trying to organise work and childcare for while I am off I am utterly driving myself nuts.
In order to feel more in control I am packing my hospital bag in the hopes it will calm my wired self into feeling like I have a say with it all. However I fear its only freaking me out more with the realisation that I need to pack for a longer stay than I have ever had before.
With my emergency section I relied on others to bring in what I needed daily and with both of my planned sections I was out in just over a day so I didn’t need too much stuff. Add that to my fleeting hospital admissions for my Caesarean section adhesions and my gallbladder removal and I am honestly not too sure what to add into my hospital bags so heres what I think I will be needing:
Small hand towel
Notebook and pen
A few snacks
Some small change
Now the question is, what else should I take with me, I feel like there is something glaringly obvious and yet for the last week this is all I have come up with.
Guaranteed I am going to have forgotten the one thing I will desperately need but yet can’t quite remember. Maybe its like the things you put in a safe place and never find?
Now if you can think of what I need to take that isn’t on my list please do shout up!
