Playmobil has been one of our go to toys during Joshua’s earlier years so it was fantastic to discover that they have other product ranges that cover a broader age range too. The action city play sets are aimed at children 5-10 years.
When they arrived I was slightly worried that these play sets would be to fiddly for Joshua as he is currently just under 5 years, but other than them being a little to fiddly to put together from scratch for him they would certainly be nice for the older child these sets are aimed at.
The Playmobile fire engine was the easiest of the 2 sets to set up as it had far less pieces but both were fairly easy to pop together. I totally loved the amount of detail in each and every piece, from the action figures through to the added accessories on the fire truck itself.
Joshua loved playing with the ladder on the truck the best as he loved putting his little fire fighter at the top! The fire engine has 2 sounds to choose from and its roof even comes off to ensure you get maximum play from it enabling little fingers better access to play.
The Playmobil fire house comes with a real working fire alarm and even the ability to get the little figures to slide down the fire pole! It also come with a control station desk and lots of added little tools like oxygen masks, booms, spades, hoses and helmets!
The front of the fire station opens up and makes for a great stage for action figure play and with the open back it means that there really is lots of access to be able to play freely.
The 2 sets together really do compliment each other and with several others in this range I have no doubt there is lots more fun to be had and with a fair range of prices these set would make fab presents as there would be one for every pocket.
