Well hello everyone .. I am super honoured to be hosting this weeks #PoCoLo link up in Vicky’s absence. For those of you that don’t know Vicky is off to the Rewind Festival and will be back next week to fill us all in her experience! Although slightly envious I do hope you have a great time Vicky!
So, if you haven’t linked before, Post Comment Love is all about sharing a post which you have written this week which just hasn’t got the attention it deserves. This is one of the easiest links EVER.
You don’t have a ‘special theme’ to have to write about, the post can be personal, sponsored, a photo, a review, a competition, your own linky, something you’ve linked to a linky….WHATEVER you like! The only rules are that you comment on at least two of the other posts in the link (maybe the one above and one below yours?!)
Also, don’t forget to display the PoCoLo Badge (code below) the more people who see it, the more people may want to join in and the more attention your post will get.
Vicky has a list for the Newbie Showcase running into early 2014! However if you would like to be featured then please email me her at firstname.lastname@example.org so she can put you on the rota. (Remember, your blog needs to be under a year old to feature)
Now this weeks Newbie Showcase – Is the lovely Sara!
Hello all! I’m Sara and I blog at mumturnedmom. I have three beautiful children, two boys and a girl; who by turns amaze, amuse and drive me nuts; and a very tolerant husband 🙂 We moved to the US from Scotland just over a year ago, initially intending to stay for two years… No decisions have yet been made, but if I was a betting woman I’d add another year to that!
Moving here has meant that for the first time in 20 years I do not have a job… Being a stay at home mum was not something I had considered before, but it has been the best decision, for all of us. It is hard, I have good days and bad days, and days where I’m not sure who I am anymore. I am far from home, family and friends, dealing with a new and very different lifestyle. Add to that the cultural differences (it’s not quite like the TV shows you know…) and my life has changed a lot!
As a family, we are grabbing this opportunity with both hands. Adventures abound, and I wanted to record them. So, my blog was born last December. I procrastinated for months, as is my way, before finally committing virtual pen to paper, and in the end it was an event in the US, at Sandy Hook Elementary, that made me realise that I had to start – then and there – and so I did, with this post. Originally it was simply a journal for us to look back on after we return to the UK, and for family and friends to keep up with our adventures while we’re here.
But, it is now more than that. As I have become part of the wonderful parent blogging community (which I had no idea even existed until the beginning of the year!) I have been inspired to really write; to join in with linkys; to reflect on the past and to record memories; to think more about motherhood and family, and what they mean to me; to embrace messy play; to celebrate my entertaining and clever children; and to bake! I write a little bit about lots of things; from crafts to activities; from baking to days out; from thoughts on motherhood to musings on identity. I take a lot of photographs!
The blog continues to grow – I have a head full of ideas, just not enough time! I love writing more than I ever expected, so I will make time – and I hope that people enjoy following my journey.
So If you have never visited Sara’s blog why not pop over and visit (she doesn’t bite! 😉 ) and don’t forget all the lovely linkers below too.
