In fact its hard to believe I am just over 7 months pregnant and in around 5 weeks time we will be getting our date from the Consultant on when we will be meeting out new arrival for his caesarean section date!
It would be fair to say it has mostly gone on my extreme nesting and list making that I wrote about last week, however the good news is apart from ordering the iCandy Peach in Royal that we are intending use with bump and ordering the Maxi-Cosi 2Way Plus car seat we pretty much have everything we need for his arrival! … Now that is exciting especially as we have a few bits left to get for Christmas and we are ready for that too!
This month I have become best friends with pregnancy insomnia which has not been fun but it’s still exciting knowing that we are on the final leg of this pregnancy journey and I will be shortly into the single figure countdown and I am so excited for that!
Although the heartburn that kicked in last month has certainly escalated this month too … Which again is not the most pleasant experience I am feeling rather good about things… and far more confident to boot!
My cravings for cheese sandwiches that have been a factor since becoming pregnant seem to have given way and instead I have craved random things from week to week … including pot noodles, frazzles (crisps) dunked in coleslaw and ice-cream cones (not together) although still with the odd cheese sandwich thrown in for good measure.
Thankfully after celebrating only a 5lb gain from conception to 6 months pregnant on last months pregnancy round up post I am pretty much holding my own with an increase of 6lbs total so far (being 28 going on 29 weeks pregnant) although I am at the hospital this week so it will be interesting to see what their scales say.
According to WebMD weight gain in pregnancy for someone overweight (which I was before pregnancy with a large BMI) …
“overweight women may need to gain only 15 to 25 pounds during pregnancy. In general, you should gain about 2 to 4 pounds during the first three months you’re pregnant and 1 pound a week during the rest of your pregnancy”
So I am still super pleased that being mindful of what I am eating and the fact I never eat anything after 6pm at night is helping me massively compared to the previous 2 pregnancies in which I gained 5 stone for each is not going to be the case for this one.
This month I have also been in excruciating pain with SPD which I have been a sufferer with since my last pregnancy 5 years ago as it seems I have hit the point of no return and not even wheat bags or paracetamol are touching it so I think its fair to say I am going to have to make the appointment with the specialist consultant that I have been putting off for the last 4 weeks.
Unfortunately this month I have also discovered what having full-blown low blood pressure can do to you … after several times of having to lie on the floor with hot and cold sweats, dizziness and feeling sick so much so that on one occasion I thoughts I was going to keel over and die …. and after a trip to my Midwife apparently I did the right thing getting on the floor and lying on my left side … next time if I feel it coming on I will have to act sooner!
So I wonder what month 8 has in store for me … whatever that might be I can’t wait each month on is a month closer to meeting the new man in my life.
