Phew these last few months have been up and down on the morning sickness front and I have discovered a few things … If I am tired and have worked too hard (ok decorating a bedroom, down stairs toilet and the hall stairs and landing single-handedly may fall in that statement) It seems to make it worse as does too much screen time! I suppose now is the time to start taking it easy as I am officially coming into my 21st week … but my nesting instinct must be on hyperdrive as I decorate the house from top to bottom!
This month we were so pleased to find out that we have a boy on board, although for us as long as baby was healthy that really was all that mattered and this little wiggly one has certainly got his grove on as the maternity clothes are out in force and I have a rather *cough cough* defined bump … although this one is looking like my previous bumps … rather big!
When we went for our gender scan both Ollie and I were convinced we were having a girl and had even decided on Amelia Ann as her name, however we not can’t seem to settle on a boys name, or should I say I have chosen one and unless Ollie can come up with something else to sway me this little boy has his name but I am not sharing that for now.
My blood pressure has been a fraction too low this month and this has resulted in some funny spells that have totally freaked me out, I must remember to sit up slowly and to drink more water as dehydration does not help the intermittent dizzy feeling!
I had forgotten since my last pregnancy just how much you get up through the night when your pregnant, it now seems I have a bladder the size of a raccoon and with my painful pelvic condition being exacerbated by pregnancy getting to sleep in the first place is hard so that I am getting limited sleep and I am rather tired and run down but hoping the ‘blooming’ phase kicks in soon!
Next week we have a hospital scan and we will get to see our super little guy again … although next months also has more consultant and midwives appointments than I can shake a stick at so now it’s starting to feel real! … Although feeling my little wiggler moving inside really does bring it home I am having a baby!
