With his previous birthday we knew what we wanted to get for him. For his 1st birthday we bought him a stand up play station which he loved, For his second birthday we bought him a plastic kitchen and he out shone me with his master baking skills.
I am really really excited this year as the possibilities are endless, Joshua is now at an age that he really does get excited by toys and that can be infectious.
Now to start with I thought we could go from some things inside like Lego but with the weather hopefully only ever going to get better I think it would be money well spent to buy toys for outside as we are both outside people and it would get used fully … even in the snow if Joshua had his way.
Ten years ago Bethany was on the verge of celebrating her 3rd Birthday too. Being a single parent at the time funds were super tight and so I saved to get her the most amazing wooden playhouse which she adored. So thinking I might keep with tradition for Joshua’s 3rd birthday I might have to invest in this wooden playhouse.
Now my other idea for his birthday is something with peddles, Joshua currently has a balance bike but I would love for him to start to understand the joy of pedal power, the wind in his hair, joy on his face or at the very least some well exercised leg muscles.
We could also combine it with some pretend play if we got the Step 2 Pedal Farm Tractor. I could only imagine what
tat treasured possessions he could fit in the back of that one!
So what would we buy if space was no object? …. it has to be a trampoline!! Although we have a fairly large garden I would hate to block off a large chunk with a trampoline and enclosure that was until I found this:
How cool is that!! I love the fact that Joshua would be safer being at ground level with far less risk from the usual trampoline issues and he wouldn’t be upsetting the neighbours by eliminating their privacy with each bounce.
So now I have to tackle Ollie and see if I can prise his wallet out his mitts so I can be even more organised by buying Joshua’s gift asap!
What would you or did you buy the 3 year old’s in your life?
