The last few weeks have been really hard, with rushing around getting things sorted for my operation, and my fear of dying, along with clearing my desk of in terms of work to make sure I had time recuperate, I am not going to lie the recovery period has not really been as it should and in fact I have been pretty much doing everything I did before the operation to remove my gall bladder albeit a little slower and with the exception of lifting.
For the first week of recuperation I have to say I hated it, I don’t to reliance on others but lifting was taken on my hubs and the nursery run by my parents which meant for a whole week I had no need or real fitness to escape the confines of the house.
So with the rain flowing softly and the grey clouds still heavy we headed off to the Colwick Country Park, just down the road to investigate what was behind the signage that we had passed so many times before without ever stopping by
Obviously when we arrived the rain was still in full flow, but I for one was just pleased to get out and about in the fresh air.
Although it was not what you would class as exploring weather we did encounter some friendly dogs, noisy geese, large puddles and even some cake .. but nothing topped of that feeling of escaping the four walls.
Even with a small amount of pain it was so nice to finally get out and I didn’t care in the slightest over the rain and the drizzle.
I felt alive.
