If you have been reading for a while you will know that I have been on a fitness and weight loss journey for some time now. However now being 2 months since major abdominal reconstructive surgery I have been given the all clear to walk, go to yoga and to start aqua aerobics.
As excited as I am to get back to being active again I had forgotten how much other preparation is needed to keep as healthy as possible.
Since the operation I have been undertaking stretching daily to keep my muscles from cramping and becoming sluggish but I am craving the Yoga to give them a really deep stretch and I am due back after the half term and cant wait.
I have stopped drinking all fizzy pop at home and after a massive sugar crash I swapped it for drinking plain water which has now made me feel much more awake and has helped me massively with my concentration.
Sleep has been the biggest learning curve for me. I used to be a night owl often working well into the early hours and then getting up with baby Jacob but after my recuperation after surgery I noticed a massive difference in how much more quickly I healed after getting 8-9 hours of sleep so have taken that on board for the last 2 months.
This is also why I am supporting the online bed retailer, Bed Guru with their campaign #WorkHardSleepWell . I know all too well how very easy it is to forget the basics like exercising, plenty of water and the best nights sleep possible. Which is why the Bed Guru have recently launched their new sports mattress range. After all finding the best mattress for you is certainly important to ensure the best sleep possible.
Since Bed Guru are aware of just what a difference good sleep and exercise can make to a person they are offering my readers the chance to win a Misfit Flash Fitness + Sleep Monitor by entering the competition below.
So what are you waiting for, Good Luck!
