Last week I blogged about the joy of the spring clean but now I am totally convinced I want to get my decorating head on and finally start revamp the rooms.
First on the list is our bedroom and I am totally excited to get that underway once we have raised the funds for the furniture. However in light of waiting I am tempted to just renew some of the other areas in our house that are only needing the flooring refreshing.
When I first moved in over 5 years ago, with limited time and budget the flooring in the house was the least of my problems and so if it looked like it might fit it was put in.
After all this time I am looking at some our carpets and wandering if they are beyond the cleaning stage. I normally clean our carpets twice a year once in October and once in the spring but this year certainly the living room one really looks like its no longer worth saving.
We have started on the look out for some reasonably priced replacement carpets that not only fit our budget but also are stylish and hardwearing so we have been taking a look at Carpetright which is just down the road from us.
We discovered them when we were looking lino before Christmas when we titivated our bathroom.
Although I think if we did replace I would still pretty much go for a similar colour (beige/brown) there is nothing like the feeling of new carpets and the smell is one of my faves, it almost tricks the brain into thinking its clean and tidy even if your child has covered every spare inch in toys.
So this coming weekend we need to start measuring up as I really think its time to replace and not renew.
