Recently we were sent a wooden 48 piece floor puzzle via Bigjigs and we were excited, firstly Joshua is that the age where lots of his current toys are really too little for him and secondly he likes to be challenged and this is the biggest jigsaw he has tried before.
I have to say looking at the picture on the front I was a little worried that it would be way too busy for him and a too chaotic for him to decipher.
I was wrong!
The pieces of the Bigjigs Wooden Floor Puzzle are a lovely size for my little guy to place together and work out, what I totally fell in love with though was the fact that the wooden puzzles are all available in different levels of difficulty too, this puzzle comes in:
Age 2-3 – 24 piece puzzle
Age 3-4 – 48 Piece puzzle
Age 5-6 – 96 Piece puzzle
Age 6+ – 192 Piece puzzle
Which means that whatever the age range of small child they have this puzzle to fit their age and difficulty rating which I love the idea of!
I am a total sucker for puzzles and it seems that Joshua is the same since discovering a true love of the old favourites this last year. There is something about the hand eye coordination and watching him look for that missing piece that really makes me heart melt, the only thing I like more is the excitement of him completing one!
This puzzle is really well made and study and Joshua has played several times a day with it for the last week and has yet to complete it in full, which is good as it is aimed at 3-4 year and he is 3.5 years so there is still plenty of room to develop with it.
Overall I personally felt it was a quality item at a reasonable price and I have even bought another one (the seaside one) to put away for Christmas as they are in my opinion really well priced and sturdy to making for a great all round toy.
