When I was asked a while back if I would like to test out the Bissell Vac & Steam cleaner I jumped at the chance, If you don’t know me personally you may not know that I do have some OCD tendencies and so cleaning really is like my therapy.
Having had a previous steam cleaner I know already the benefits of steam cleaning my floor such as the fact it leaves no toxic residue, it’s cost-effective and it can kill well known bacteria such as e-coli, listeria, and salmonella.
What had me totally excited about this machine is the fact it did two jobs in one!
With a built-in cyclonic action vacuum to pick up dirt followed by the easy to use steam cleaner function this seems like it has it all covered… but has it?
Yes .. I adore the Bissell Vac & Steam Cleaner, not only can I vacuum up the bin mess when the bag splits, I can then steam clean the floor it landed on making sure I have it all clean and hygienic all with one machine.
The machine comes with 2 x MicroFibre infused Microban® mop pads that help fight the growth of bacteria on the mop heads. The MicroFibre covers are also easy to pop on and pull off although I have yet to get mine as clean as when they first arrived .. but they can be put into a washing machine to be washed which again is fab.
Manoeuvring the Vac & Steam is really easy with the adjustable handle, which being short helped me massively and so it’s a massive bonus in my book. The head joint also makes it really easy to get into the gaps you need, like between chair legs or under the kitchen cabinets.
The control buttons are easy to use, vac – vacuum hi and low for steam and then the trigger underneath to make the steam come out the machine.
The only niggle I had with the machine was that once you have used the steam function if you go back to using the vacuum then it is obviously less effective at sucking up everything as it was before using the steam, but for me that’s more than understandable.
My biggest criticism I have is that I should have found this while weaning my little boy .. I lived on my hands and knees and with wet mops everywhere .. this machine really would have eased the pressure.
