Over recent weeks my toddler has been more and more excitable about the use of my ipad mini and If I am honest it had me terrified, not being built to withstand a toddler It was time to look for a toddler/child alternative.
After spending some time searching we settled on the V-Tech InnoTAB 3s from Argos in of course the blue version, after a swift delivery it was time to get started.
Now first off let me say that its not a play and go device, in order to get the most out of your machine and be able to use some really niffty features such as monitoring your child learning progress, downloading games directly to the InnoTAB and also their super cool kids connect service it does take a little while to get the system up and running (by downloading the Learning Lodge). However having said that it takes no longer than any other device to set up so really its a must for us.
Now after an initial gliche with the software that the super helpful team at V-Tech’s customer services very swiftly talked me through (all my over eager fault) it meant it was very easily able to download some new toddler games direct to the InnoTAB.
Games wise I have been very impressed, you can purchase games that come on cartridges but you can also download a wide range of games directly to the InnoTAB too! Not only that the game come in varying age groups and start from age 1 and work up to age 9. Meaning that the InnoTab 3s is built to grow with your child and you don’t have to replace it each year!
Child safe web browsing is only a touch away with pre-selected and parent-approved websites, allowing even more learning fun and from a parent perspective it was really easy to set up!
Kid-safe Wi-Fi Connection means that you can send texts to an InnoTAB 3s via an iPhone or smart phone so you can keep in touch with your child. What I loved is that this function you don’t have to allow so it really is up to a parent and not forcing your child into the world of text too soon!
The InnoTAB 3s has some other super features in the E-Reader and the wonder Cam with a rotating 180o rotating camera and video recorder so its idea for those budding photographers and its super easy to use too!
Overall since our son is 2 3/4 years and the InnoTAB 3s is predominately aimed at children ages 3-9 I think he is just starting on his InnoTAB journey and he will only ever be more excited at each new stage. I am looking forward to being able to track his development and learning and also being able to change the games to help him grow.
For a children’s tablet I love the fact the emphasis is still on the learning and not of making our children grow up too quickly beyond their years.
