So having just returned from our week in the Mark Warner San Lucianu Beach Resort in Corsica I just wanted to share how amazing this resort actually is! With a stunning beach on one side and some beautiful mountains on the other the resort really did have picturesque views wherever you looked. The grounds the resort were sat in were well maintained and were beautiful.
Now before travelling I was fully aware that the resort had and is I believe continuing to have a face lift. The rooms which we had if I am honest were dated compared to the refurbished rooms, however I would like to stress they were more than adequate with the facilities and they were both super clean when we arrived and cleaned everyday while we were there.
I felt the pictures on the main Mark Warner website really didn’t do this resort justice as it is so much more beautiful than than the pictures show (not that my pictures are technically great either)
Both pools were absolutely beautiful and both had sun loungers and a baby pool was located in one. They were really clean and a lovely size although not massive, but with the beach within spitting distance there was really no need for anything massive.
The facilities on site were fantastic, with being a Mark Warner virgin we really didn’t know what to expect, however we were gobsmacked at what we could do! San Lucianu Beach Resort had 3 tennis courts available to book at your leisure and for those wanting some lesson or matches there were plenty of opportunity at a reasonable cost. There were also mountain bikes to use at your own leisure and a full activity programme.
The water sports on offer were amazing and although Ollie (hubby) and I only took out a double kayak and paddled along the water front once, Bethany (age 12) was constantly in the water from sailing, windsurfing and swimming. So we were really impressed.
The food was fantastic with some great choices for breakfast and for the evening meal. I do have to say we chose to use the onsite childcare facility for the evening so we could enjoy the gorgeous A la Carte evening meal although Joshua was very crafty and after a day or two he discovered he had to come too if he cried enough and the provisions to keep him entertained while we ate A la Carte were more difficult and we did in fact miss a couple of sweets as he was becoming boisterous. My only suggestion where the evening meal is concerned would be to allow adults to choose to either eat with their children at 5.30pm or to eat A la Carte as we did miss eating with out our children for a week.
If your considering the option of paying for the lunch menu, we thought it was great with freshly prepared pizza and lots of luscious salads followed by some lovely flavoured ice cream it really was a great choice for us!
For us the biggest and most appreciated extra that Mark Warner offer that a lot of other holiday companies do not is a really amazing childcare options and facilities with some amazing nannies. With 6 free mornings for Joshua (aged 2) and almost all day activities on for Beth (aged 12) this holiday for us was really about spending some quality relaxing time together .. along with me being able to laugh at Ollie’s idea of playing tennis!
If you would like to read more about our experience of the childcare facility you can find it HERE.
We found all the staff to be super helpful and more than accommodating with anything we needed and nothing seemed like too much trouble. As family holidays abroad go I do have to say this has by far been our best one to date.
Thanks Mark Warner and more importantly massive thanks to all the staff on site for making our trip so memorable.
