Recently we were asked to take a look at Mega Bloks First Builders bag with 60 pieces! (ages 1-5) and also Thomas & Friends Deluxe Starter Set with 130 pieces (ages 3+) and we were excited, we had not really had much play time with building blocks before (minus Mummy points for me)
Mega Bloks First Builders Set
With the trendy bag and some super funky colours we loved the look of this pack when it arrived although me for those reasons and I know Joshua’s were more for the fun that the bag contained!
Joshua loved playing with Mega Bloks First Builders Set and he has made some interesting creations as these bloks are designed for open-ended play and imagination they have certainly made an impact on our play and my little guys enjoyment.
He has played on his own but also he has liked for us to sit and create with him too which has been lovely.
For this set my little guy was over the moon .. He is a total Thomas fiend and so when he realised that his favourite character could lead to some building adventures too there really was no stopping him!
The Thomas and Friends Deluxe Set has some already super little niffty blocks with cranes, fences, track and even a flag! all this is on top of the free bricks you can use to make the station on the front of the storage bag or even to free play and design something a little less *cough cough* structured shall we say!
Although a teeny bit fiddly the stickers are a great add to for the set, although it did take us a few hours to realise that we had them as Joshua ‘unpacked’
What I loved about both of these sets was the ease of use (for all members of the household) they are super quick to tidy away with the lovely storage bags, the set are super on the imagination front and great for taking out when we are going visiting too!
Why we had not come across Mega Bloks before is beyond me as they are great fun and I am certain we will see more sets in the future!
