Since we are fairly new users to the Wii U we don’t have masses of games yet to play and with Joshua’s (age 4) recent obsession with the old Nintendo DS that was loitering around the house we had been looking for a game that Joshua would love and so when we were asked to take a look at the new Yoshi’s Woolly World Joshua was excited!
The story behind this beautiful game is that the Yoshis are living on Craft Island, but the super naughty knitwit Kamek turns up and creates havoc by turning the Yoshis into balls of wool but a few are missed and after chasing away the knitwit, the remaining Yoshis go on a rescue mission to get back their friends!
I absolutely loved the graphics and characters in this game, they are super beautiful and full of life which is just what you would expect with Yoshi!
There are several modes of play with this game, normal classic, multi player and even a mellow mode which was super for Joshua, with it’s flying in mid air, extra health hearts and even an option of a invincibility egg after 5 attempts!
We seriously need to invest in another controller as this was the one game we have played so far that we really felt it would have been lovely to play along side Joshua to help him learn although I know we would have been totally immersed so maybe not so wise when we are super busy at the moment decorating! Although we are certainly going to look into it!
As you would expect from Nintendo, Yoshi’s Woolly World has an associated amiibo’s are super cute too and are a really great addition to the game play, especially in classic mode! (if you are new to amiibo’s you can find some further information on what they are HERE)
All in all we totally loved this game … although the music drove us batty and we did have to mute the sound after a while! (sorry Nintendo!)
