So when we got the opportunity to head to Birmingham’s New Alexandra Theatre to see the Octonauts Live we were more than a little excited!
The Octonauts are set and ready to go on an exciting new mission with the quirky and heroic heros .. The Octonauts!
This live action packed musical stage show stars Captain Barnacles, Kwazii and Peso, as the Deep Sea Volcano Adventure brings the entire crew of the Octonauts to life on stage for the very first time!
For this review I had the fantastic pleasure of Ellie from The Mummy Diary and her beautiful children coming with Joshua and I on the train!
The characters really were amazing and with the costumes being full head to toe costumes It really did make it so much more believable (yep I really did just write that about a theatre performance)
The stage changes were very dramatic but yet very subtle to the viewer and it made for a really great flow without the stop start feel of some other performances. My favourite scenes I have to say were the deep-sea ones with the blacked out stage and the UV costumes and fluid movements, they were mesmerising!
This is by far the loveliest show I have seen to date, The plot was enough to lore me in without being too ‘little person ..ish’ or being to complicated for them either!
My favourite character still remains …. Professor Inkling … and the stage version of him was fab .. well made me laugh anyway.
