I recently given the opportunity to Review the Original YBIKE Balance Bike and I was over the moon. Now Joshua has had several ride on types of outside toys but nothing that would help his balance and co ordination like this!
So looking at the website these are the positives:
- Substantial improvements in both static and dynamic balance
- Substantial improvements in bilateral coordination
- Observable improvements in physical self-confidence
- Recommended age 2 – 4 years old, but can be used by most kids over 2 years old and weighing less than 50 kg. Many 5 – 8 year olds enjoy playing with YBIKE!
So lets start from the beginning, when it arrived I am not sure what I had expected however It was more than easy to put together with the 2 long bolts and the 3 pieces! So in my book that’s a bonus as I don’t have time or a degree to put things together!
The first outing with the Original YBIKE Balance Bike was at home and Joshua was excited at first but once it was time to get on it he was a little dubious …….. however that did not last long!
It has been super easy to transport and we have even taken it on days out as its light enough to chuck into the boot of the car, making it ideal to take any time we are out for a walk.
The construction of the bike is really fab, its made of a smooth washable plastic so you can even take it out on muddy days and just wipe it or wash it down afterwards … perfect!
Now we have only had the bike for about 2 weeks and we have been using it now almost everyday and we have noticed lots of improvement, first and foremost in his confidence. He really struggled to get to grips on the first attempt and now he is getting about really fast. We have also noticed that he is no longer tipping to the sides he is almost rigid when he is riding which is obviously increasing his core muscles.
We are really loving this bike and will certainly look at the next stage one once its needed we love it! What a really ingenious product!
