In a couple of months my underwear will be making way for paper pants and enormous pads but while I am not stuck with breast pads and garish ugly maternity boulder holders for bras I have been making it my mission this month to not only source some maternity nursing bras but also to get fitted properly and find some that are still pretty enough that I am not going to feel frumpy in them … after all changing body shapes is hard enough while pregnant and the months after baby is born.
So my first port of call was to get myself professionally measured and so headed off to the large Mothercare in Meadowhall … although there are some great online services for assisting bra measuring I am so in need of new bras that getting the right size and picking up one or two while I am there was the only way to go!
I have to say on my first pregnancy I hated being measured for maternity or nursing bras, however now being on my third pregnancy I am no longer shy and just want to make sure I get bras that fit well and will last, after all I have lasted with my pre pregnancy bras till this point but there really is no choice now to invest and I am wanting some comfort!
Firstly I was super-duper impressed at the lady that helped us in store she was really fab, not rushing me and even after measuring she encouraged me to try a few sizes on just to ensure that every part of the bra fitted well … Go Mothercare on that front!!
I have to say although I knew my boobs had grown obviously I had no idea just how much they do change in pregnancy and I am now the biggest cup size I have ever been and that’s before my milk comes in!
I am so chuffed with the bra that I purchased at the weekend and in a few weeks its time to invest in a few more as one won’t be enough!
And the really good news is now I know what size to buy I can now shop round for some super pretty bras to go with this spotty t-shirt style bra!
If you have invested recently in maternity/nursing bra’s I would love to hear your recommendations!
As for paper pants … I am just not sure I can face them again … so this time I might just invest in some BIG pants that will sit well over my section scar so they don’t roll down into the wound and since it will be late January early February, massive pants will help me keep warm anyway won’t they?
If you are pregnant I would love to hear just want you have been adding into your pregnancy wardrobe so why not link up below with your very own #RockTheBump posts!
