Recently I was asked to take part in a challenge to style a storage box into a memory box and to share what we would use a memory box for via Safestore.
Needless to say we certainly aren’t going to keep the kids in there but the memories that are most precious to me all pretty much contain my children ..
When they have grown up and left their clingy Mother I love nothing more than rifling through a box of precious memories and I guess I am not alone.
Although we don’t print out all our photos these days we do still have memory books that we have made, some of the first ever outfits that both my children wore, their first shoes, hospital tags and wedding photos.
Other items we would store in our memory box would be the candles from each birthday cake… odd I know but with so many things I could keep candles are small and compact so don’t take up too much room!
I used to save every single picture sent home from nursery when Beth was little but nearly 14 years of ‘creations’ can be a little more cumbersome to keep forever. Although this got me thinking about the storage box itself.
It’s great to have sturdy and stackable boxes but they are very bland … so in order to create a memory in its own right .. We let Joshua loose on ours so the box will be a memory in its own right.
Joshua may not be Picasso but it certainly was a great effort and far more colourful that the box was before.
So there you have it … our memories inside a memory all for posterity.
What would you include in your memory box?
