School shoes in the past have been my nemesis in the school uniform stakes.
In the past we have barely last the first day or even week without Joshua destroying his toe ends and making his shoes look dreadful.
So having never tried Start-rite shoes I was excited to discover what was so different about these compared to some other brands.
Start-rite have 225 years of shoe designing and making expertise behind them and claim to be dedicated to creating quality, durable, stylish-fitted footwear designed especially for children of all ages.
Having browsed around the Start-rite website they had an immensely large range of shoes for all ages and come in full sizes and half sizes too, not to mention the different width too.
Joshua’s school uniform is more of a formal uniform and so we were thrilled to find the ‘Engineer’ school shoes with their leather uppers and linings but still with a younger boys feel to them with their scuff resistant toe protection.
When they arrived in Joshua’s size I loved them even more with their ankle padding and their super strong Velcro tabs for not only ease of getting them on and off but also keeping them secure on his foot.
Even with their sturdy looks the sole on these still maintained its flexibility so he hasn’t moaned once that he can’t bend his foot which has happened with other shoes in the past.
Obviously for a 6-year-old football mad child anything that hinders his ability to play is obviously not going to go down well and thankfully these shoes seems to be faring well with no complaint in sight from him or me and I am sure the school are equally as happy with our choice since they tick our uniform guidelines too!
Next I am off to browse their large range of first walkers for Jacob as I need to find him a comfortable summer offering and have failed previously so watch out Start-rite we will be back!
