Social Media Sites Love or Loath? - My blogging journey has been one hell of an eye opener for me, jumping from a personal Facebook account into Twitter …. I wont lie, I hated it I made a Foux pas or two, it really was very cringe worthy. There needs to be some kind of Tweet etiquette handbook! … or maybe I am just slow on the uptake?
I am sure I still don’t know all the etiquette rules surrounding the platform but I am sure as eggs is eggs that If I cock up some kindly tweeter will pull me up and point it out… until then with thousands of tweets under my belt I suppose I am now a fan!
Some of the other sites like pintrest, linkedin and Google+ I need to up my game. I know that effective use of these sites can make a massive deal to a newbie blogger but yet finding the time to play and learn seems to keep eluding me *Note to self: Must Try Harder* … And yet there are many I still haven’t come across…… luckily – I am not sure I would be able to cope with any more right now in my head.
However if I am honest I think it maybe my fear of the unknown that is holding me back, with my first twitter cock up and by cock up I mean not putting @(personsname) in front of some tweets I was sending on mass …. it has left me feeling slightly vulnerable to starting from scratch with new platform.
What also upsets me with social media is some of the people that hide behind a computer screen to cast their vile words of assumption and those that still seem to have not given up with the school yard bickering. I just keep my head down and try to keep my small corner of cyber land a happy, bubbly place to be. I really don’t think social media platforms are that much different to real life ..
Although It did take me a while I did take a chance on one platform, which has now become a firm favourite and that is the fantastic Intagram, it really is like your life in pictures. I love how easy it is, I love how it can be shared with your other platforms at the flick of a button and I love how you can interact so easily with others. I love how the pictures can make you laugh or cry or smile with that single solitary shot. I love how random you can be:
