You’ll have noticed that Easter Eggs have now taken over the supermarket aisles almost as soon as Valentine’s Day had finished, some stores even stocking them sooner.
Is this a bad thing? Well it is if you are me and are planning on continuing on a healthy eating and fitness regime once I am fully recovered from this operation.
I am getting stronger and stronger by the day but it is very frustrating not being able to pick up the boys still, both are still young enough to want and need their Mummy and I feel rather helpless not being able to do all the thing I could a few weeks ago – that said, I will come out the other side of recovery pain free and that will make not only me happy but the boys too as I will be able to play properly again with them, get down on the floor and to kick a ball around the garden with them.
If you follow me on social media you’ll have seen that finally I managed to leave the house for a weekend of fun with Ollie and the boys, albeit I was limited to the amount of walking around possible it was lovely to get out and about in the fresh air again.
With Easter fast approaching I am about to start planning our annual Easter Egg hunt, who doesn’t love that! This year I will have two boys excitedly running around the garden on the search for chocolate, or should I say 3 as I’m sure Ollie will be seeking them out just as fast as the boys – I will of course have to hide some back for myself.
Anyone who knows us will know we love chocolate, it doesn’t matter which chocolate either so Easter is always a family favourite, I won’t be over indulging this year however as I am still going to continue with my healthier eating, my juicing and once I have the green light from my consultant I will head back to the gym again – who’d have thought I would actually be saying that but I am missing it just a little.
If we do end up with too much chocolate – yes there is such a thing, I am planning to melt down and make my Chocolate Finger Easter Cake again.
To combat all the calories of Easter I will continue with the juicing I have recently been doing and enjoying and will look into adding some whey protein powder into the smoothies as it contains 9 essential amino acids and is low in lactose content, it’s also used as a supplementation, alongside resistance exercise, to help improve muscle protein synthesis and promote the growth of lean tissue mass which will aid me when I am back at the gym.
There of course is lots of fun to be had first in the Easter Egg hunt planning. There are Eggs to buy, clues to write and baskets are also needed – if I am feeling Egg-venturous we may even make Easter bonnets for the occasion. I wonder if the Easter Bunny will make an appearance.
Now I leave you with a few Easter facts which you may enjoy – did you know that approximately 8- million chocolate eggs are sold annually in the UK?
