A few weeks ago Joshua visited his soon to be Primary School that he is due to start in September and as I sobbed on the way home from these visits not only did I feel so very proud of how excited he was to move onto this next stage of his life I also felt a full blown panic.
How will my little guy cope with lunchtimes?, getting dressed after PE? And finding new friends?
I won’t lie, we have had to make a point of tackling certain life skills over the school holidays in preparation to him starting school with things like helping him learn to use his knife properly, wiping his bottom and fastening buttons so he is ready.
Recently we were asked by Marks and Spencers if we had seen the new extra features on the Marks & Spencers school uniform range and having been a M&S school uniform lover with Beth for at least the last 7 years it was time to see what the boys range had in store for Joshua.
One of the new features had me really intrigued, Expanicuffs! These are elasticated cuffs so you don’t have to do the cuff buttons! … In genius in my book no tears for me or Joshua come September!
There are other features across the School uniform range too that I think are certainly going to help many parents all over! … Adjustable waists and hems! Stainaway on shirts that mean stains wash out more easily!, Permanent Pleats …. So no more stressing at trying to get them right and the lovely Non-Iron feature ideal for wet mornings being able to wash and tumble dry and wear!
Over the years of buying Marks & Spencers uniforms I have always loved the quality with secure stitching, and quality materials so it was nice to see the little boys range of School Uniform is no different.
There were other featured that I loved with the uniform essentials we tried for Joshua like the velcro top button fastening, at Joshua’s new school he has a proper tie to wear meaning he has to wear his top button fastened but this lovely velcro feature will mean much quicker dress and undress for the shirt as he can slip off his shirt easily, added with the Expanicuffs for the long sleeve shirts and there really will be no stopping him.
I also loved the trousers we picked for him to try too, with expandable waist adjusters and crease resistant material the trousers were also button free and were just pulled up and down as where the matching shorts… meaning again he will have no problems doing these himself meaning much speedier mornings, less stress and one confident Mum that he will cope at PE time!
Now if we could just crack the use of the knife at lunchtime!
