Towards the end of last year and during the beginning of this year pregnancy swamped me along with pain and so getting nearer to my due date was the be all and end all for a while.
Follow that up with months of trying to establish breastfeeding with an acute reflux baby and just surviving till bed time was the focus.
Over the last few weeks life seems to have finally relaxed and settled into a nice and calm routine and with Jacob being less reliant on me Ollie and I can tag team care for both boys.
A little while back I got the chance to take someone on one time with my biggest boy in the form of a cinema trip and lunch and I jumped at the chance.
On perusing what was showing it was decided we would go and watch The Secret Lives of Pets and then head to MacDonald’s for lunch, both this choice but I couldn’t wait to spend some time with him so anything would have been good in my book.
We left Ollie and Jacob at home one Sunday morning and set off in the car for our Mummy/Son time and after a 30 minute journey in the car listening to Joshua chatter away (30 minute non stop talking with only 3 breaths is quite some feat!) We arrived and collected our tickets.
For me a cinema trip would not be complete without a large tub of salted popcorn and it seems my little fella is more like his Mummy than I thought with his request for some salted popcorn and not wanting to share!
While waiting for the film to start we chatted and laughed and Joshua even got some jokes in, obviously they were really really funny (*cough cough* )
The film was so good and one of the best kids films I had seen for a while but what I loved most of all was knowing I was sharing something with him, just him and me.
I hadn’t really taken on board just how much one on one time is needed but I certainly won’t be taking it for granted again as he is already lining me up for the cinema again to watch the BFG and this time I am not going to wait so long!
I could not be more proud that I am this little guys Mummy and he is my son.
