If you have been a long-time reader of my little portion of the internet then you will know that I have had some great success with weight loss over the years and you will know that equally after 3 surgeries I am back to square one and I still don’t get how to balance food.
In light of the fact I have about 7 stones to shift and I am eager to find an even keel with physical activity and food too I have been really excited to be able to share the news that I am going to be working with XLS Medical for the next couple of months to try and find a healthy and manageable way for me to start shifting the weight that is holding me back, both mentally and physically.
As part of the #BoostBuddie programme with XLS Medical I will be replacing 2 of my meals each day with one of the nutritious shakes while still eating a balanced meal for the 3rd meal.
For me I will be using the MyFitnessPal app to track my food throughout the day and obviously adding in my XLS Medical shakes in there too ensuring that all my calories are counted each day.
The shakes are made with 200mls of cold milk and 4 scoops of powder and so far, taste ok. Although 8 weeks having the 3 flavours (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla) might become slightly tedious so I will be looking at ways to switch things up a bit with some fruit and flavourings I will be adding in.
As part of the programme I was invited to London to the launch of the #BoostBuddies event but with work and family commitments I was unable to go and chat with the team and have my ‘fat’ photos taken (before photos) thankfully though the lovely team paid for me to visit a local photographer and have my photos taken the day before starting this journey.
Although I am anxious about sharing these photos I think it’s a positive move to share them, I need to be held accountable for the way my body is right now and to help me keep focussed moving forward so here they are:
At one point in time I would have felt humiliated sharing these, however now I feel excited. This is the point in time that I started to regain my life and control of it and to start taking the time out I need to relearn healthier food habits and to carry out regular exercise so it becomes part of my lifestyle and not a chore.
So, folks watch this space as I share the next 8 weeks of this journey with you online.
