If you have been hanging around in this neck of the internet for a while you will know that through the Summer I attended an event at RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park to discover what was new with the STIHL brand.
It was while I was there that no longer where STIHL focussing purely on the professional gardener and workman/work women … they were in fact providing their first range of product with the professional product element in a more everyday user format in the form of their new Compact and Cordless range.
Over the summer months the compact and cordless range has started to be shipped and come on sale and we have had the pleasure of actually putting one of their 4 items to the test here at home on our very own garden.
We were very lucky to able to test driver he compact and cordless grass trimmer and with so many STHIL retailers we headed over to our local branch a few miles away to collect it and to have a refresher of how it all worked.
When we arrived we were given a quick refresher on how it all worked and what we needed to do re the battery and we were set!
On getting home it was really simple to set up, it came with a super set of instructions, AK 10 battery and AL 101 charger and to top it off the battery was even full so it made it even quicker to get going.
What I loved when I first set eyes on this grass trimmer was the ability to adjust it so I was able to use it without the hurting my already damaged back and pelvis and this really was amazing when in full use.
I love the location of the trigger and with its auto feed line it really was a case of off you go and in super quick time and the quiet technology meant it had lots of power without the noise! It was worth noting that for replacement spools you will need to obviously purchase them separately (Pre-wound line spool for FSE 52 and FSA 56, 1.6mm)
In order to give it a proper run for its money over the summer I even let my husband loose with it and his response was one of sheer joy at not having to avoid any wires and at how quick in comparison it was too.
As I said in my previous post this grass trimmer is not the cheapest on the market with a RRP of £199 (at time of publication) however the quality and ease of use certainly make up for that!
The compact and cordless range comes with 4 products currently and the only negative we have found is not having a lawnmower to match the grass trimmers capabilities and ease of use!
