Over recent weeks we have continued to try to keep up with our family outings and fresh air and a little while ago while visiting Sherwood Forest we were introduced to the RSPB stand that was there that weekend.
The RSPB has been no stranger to my husband as he was a total bird lover as a child and even had a junior membership!
On the RSPB stand we fell in love with the wildlife hotel and also at the fact that this area has some major conservation projects that are upcoming that we can even help with if we want to!
So with our love of all thing nature, along with looking for ways in which to get out and about outside we took the plunge and signed up to a family membership!
As members we will receive things intermittently throughout the year for Joshua who will get activities and books based on the seasons and life cycles of critters!
When we signed up we were given a brown paper bag with all our first months essentials, and I have to say Joshua was more than excited, with magnifying glasses, a bug house and even a new hedgehog pal we were more than thrilled…. By the way the hedgehog is now called spike!
We are hoping we can get the bug house up in the garden soon to capture all those looking for a spangly new residence!
Having some really exciting new wildlife project coming up in the area I have no doubt we will be going on some exciting wildlife adventures really soon and until then I am going to look at ways we can encourage and look after the wildlife already in our garden … who knows what we may end up with .. however what ever it maybe I have no doubt our new RSPB books will help us find out more about them!
