Now the nursery is almost completed I am starting to get my head into gear about the essentials we need to buy for this baby, and first on the list what are we going to do about where his little lordship will sleep?
With my previous 2 children I had a second hand Moses basket with stand and hated both of them, they felt flimsy, were noisy and to be fair they were more of a pain than they were worth then both went into a cot in their own room.
This time round I am looking for something a little more sturdy, nice and stylish and not creaky or noisy, but with limited width space most of the wooden framed contraptions are far too wide so it really was back to the drawing board but not for long as I think I have found a super modern version of the Moses basket that ticks all of my boxes in the form of the Dreami from Shnuggle its clever design and beautiful looks has this stunningly practical piece of kit at the top of my list and so now my only dilemma is bedding!
The big question for me in the bedding dilemma is do I swaddle or sleeping bag my newborn?
Joshua hated being swaddled and constantly managed to get his arms out, in fact we were hit and miss with blankets and bedding till I discovered the joy that is sleeping bags but what do I do for a newborn? There seems to be 100’s of varying options and the more I read about it the more confused I get?
In fact there seems to have been a massive amount of products created since I had Joshua that I am overwhelmed by the amount of choice!
The bonus of sleeping bags are baby head can’t be covered as the neck hole is size relevant and so baby can’t slip down into the bag but then do I buy 1 tog and blanket over the top or 2.5 tog? …Or if I go down the baby swaddling route … well lets just say I don’t know where to start on that one!
So my dear readers I would love some advice … Do I swaddle or do we use a sleeping bag? what did you do with your little ones?
