As most of my regular readers know I am nothing if not obsessive on the Pushchair front and doing the job I do means I have the pleasure sometimes of discovering new products.
Last Friday I had the privilege of attending a new product launch by the BabyStyle team at Baby Planet in Derby with their new Hybrid Pushchair and I was really excited to see it in real life.
After all there is nothing better than getting to have a real life demo and popping your own child in it to see how it would work for you to really get a better feel for something.
On arrival I have to say I was far more impressed than I had been when looking at the product online, the reason?
The colour options …. On arriving the varied colour options were far more vibrant in real life and the texture of the fabrics really oozed luxury.
The BabyStyle Hybrid if you haven’t yet seen it is in fact 3 pushchairs in one and that’s before you get to the travel system aspect.
The Hybrid comes in 3 versions – Hybrid Edge, Hybrid City and Hybrid Tandem.
The Hybrid City
Comes with a 55cm wide base and smaller rear wheels that makes this a great city option.
The Hybrid Edge
Has all the same functions as the city but with large wheels on the back meaning it can handle more varied terrains
The Hybrid Tandem
By adding a tandem axle you can turn the Hybrid Edge into a tandem in just a few minutes, making it an ideal option if your family is set to grow as you can add a second seat unit or carry cot.
There are some amazing features on the BabyStyle Hybrid but firstly let me mention the price. Now I have to be honest and say that for the £499 (single Hybrid Edge) I am really impressed. It comes with insect net and raincover but having seen just how much this luxury and style is packed in I think it’s rather cheap price wise for what you get! I had expected a much high price ticket on this. However that does mean luxury for less and for me saving some pennies on the wheels means less pressure on those purse strings!
The fabrics, handle bar and bumper bar are beautifully crafted and the unique wheels really do smack of style!
However my most favourite features were the large hood with its pop out sun visor and the car seat style harness, which is great for making sure your littler person is comfy and perfectly positioned each time.
The Hybrid can be used in parent or world facing options and can be folded by taking the seat off the chassis and folding as separates or can be folded very compactly in the world facing option. If you prefer it can be folded parent facing too, however this option is a fairly bulky option in comparison. For me however I have a 7 seater car with a huge boots space so this would never be an issue for me.
The BabyStyle Hybrid pushchair comes with the option of added extras too, carrycot, height adjusters to raise up car seat, carrycot, or seat unit and these can be added while in single mode or tandem. There is also footmuff and car seat brackets too.
Overall I have been throughly excited by the new offering from BabyStyle and cant wait to see how it handles day-to-day.
