Everyone has photos on their wedding day. It’s just part and parcel of the whole day and lets you revisit the special day time and time again. However, over recent years there’s been an increase in people jumping in and having engagement photographs too.
And why not?
Getting engaged is a big moment in most people’s lives, so it’s only natural that people want to celebrate it and share the news. Having photos done may also simply be a way of simply remembering the event years down the line; we take photos of practically everything else, so why not take photos of an engagement too?
It’s a good way of telling friends and family
If you’ve got a big family or loads of friends to tell about your engagement, then having engagement photos is a great (and easy) way of telling them. You don’t have to travel round and see everyone or spending hours on the phone having the same conversation. This might sound a little impersonal but if it’s simply not possible to get round everyone then photos are the next best thing.
Professional or amateur?
When having your photographs done, you have the choice of whether to go the amateur route and do it all yourself or you can call in the pros to do it and have it done by someone who really knows their way around a camera. Obviously doing it yourself will save you money, so if that’s an issue then that could be the way forward, but if you want something that you’ll really treasure then going with Venture, or other similar professional company, who are experts in engagement photography will guarantee great photos.
Blame social media
These days, absolutely everything some people do is put up on Facebook or Twitter. Relationships aren’t official until they’re announced on Facebook whilst some people can’t go 10 minutes without posting up a picture of their child. Consequently, the standard place to post up your engagement photos is on Facebook and wait for those ‘Likes’ to come rolling in. And don’t forget to change your relationship status or you can’t legally get married.
They can be a part of the wedding stationery
Having engagement photo done can actually play a part in some of the planning of your wedding, namely the ‘save the dates’ or wedding invitations. You can use the photos as part of your wedding stationery and it’ll make them all the more personal and unique.
