If you have been round this neck of the internet a while you will already know I have a love hate relationship with my kitchen.
Well, let’s be honest its more hate.
So when Jacob started down the weaning process I make some meals from scratch and then bought food in for the rest and its worked well for us as a family and Jacob has thrived.
I am not a preachy parent and I think each and every one of our children is different in their preferences, tastes and abilities and weaning is no different.
Jacob preferred to be spoon fed until only a few months ago, he was a lazy eater but he was super partial to a Heinz rusk and then we discovered Biscotti biscuits and he has loved all 7 flavours and never looked back.
With his new-found love of self feeding we also were able to provide him with more toddler sized portions with bigger lumps and again stuck with what we knew and chose the Heinz Little Kids Tray Meals that are aimed at 1-3 years having previously used their pouches and jars.
Recently we were contacted by Heinz Baby to see if we would like to try Jacob on their toddler foods and we were thrilled as they already featured greatly in his diet because he loves the taste and they can help me give him a more varied diet. Not to mention take the pressure off on those days where life is just too busy!
This summer the Heinz Little Kids Tray Meals will be saving our bacon as we fly on holiday later this year and with Jacob being a rather picky eater I am planning on packing one tray meal for each day to make sure he is at least going to bed on a full tummy if the food is not to his taste during the trip. Sandwiches, fruit and veg sticks and other fingers foods like the Biscotti biscuits are going to feature during the day so I think we have the holiday abroad covered.
But what about our other adventures? … Simple.
Tray meals can be heated in pan of water so make a great camping trip essential too. So from foreign climbs, muddy fields or even a kitchen in Nottingham thanks Heinz for making life a little less pressured and for helping me to balance Jacobs meals with less stress.
