We are on the verge of Joshua heading off to the world of school on Monday and so while lots of other children headed back to school this week we jumped at the chance to get out in the fresh air, eat fish and chips and get on the beach!
Last year when we visited Barmston Beach we passed through and decided to stop for chips and we loved this little seaside secret with it’s amazing fish and chips and the lovely beach its like a little hidden gem!
So last week we headed to Hornsea for our last summer adventure to make the most of the limited sunshine and time before our little fella is Monday to Friday school bound!
Once we got to the coast we headed straight for our favourite fish and chips and although Joshua hates chips he made fish sandwiches instead.
Next on the must do list was the wonderful 2p machines to spend copious amounts on gaining the much-anticipated win of the treasured possession! … In our case we managed to bag a Yoshi and what Joshua calls a boy purse with Super Mario on the front!
I have to be honest I am a total 2p machine junkie and I am the most addicted person the planet to win the tat but if it’s the only vice I have I can that!
A celebratory ice-cream followed for Ollie and I and Joshua went for some doughnuts before heading off the beach for some much-needed rock climbing and the obligatory stone plopping session (as in stone skimming and failing miserably)
Even with 4 hour round trip it certainly was worth it to see the smile on Joshua’s face and have the sea air blow in my face … there is something quite magical about breathing in the fresh air.
