If you have been round here reading for a while you will know Joshua has struggled with water and swimming.
It has been an immensely long journey for Joshua to finally become more settled in water and finally starting to enjoy water and swimming and enjoying the process of learning to swim.
I don’t want Jacob to have the same anxieties over water that Joshua had and we first introduced him to water with the help of Konfidence last January just before my operation as part of our swimologist ambassador role and he loved his first taster session of swimming lessons.
Since then however my recuperation took over, as did family life and he had not been swimming since then. Which I am honestly sitting here feeling rather embarrassed about.
Thankfully on our recent holiday to Lake Garda in Italy Jacob got to opportunity to hit the pool each day for a whole 2 weeks and I am so very pleased that the break in swimming doesn’t seem to have had any lasting impact on his as he loved it.
As the pool got busier he tended to not like is quite as much but his favourite water actions were being thrown in the air and splashing down with Daddy and sitting under a water source to get his head dripped on.
Although a little odd I am taking that for a win and we have vowed as a family that we won’t be leaving it so long next time till he goes back in the water. In fact on an upcoming camping trip we have along with out friends hired the pool there for an hour privately to give the kids some space and some water time.
We are also hoping our that our baby swimming lessons will be starting again in September so Jacob can finally get to grips with some proper swimming lesson and I can get some tips to make sure his time in the water is a positive one.
