Back in September Jacob and I were involved in a car accident when a car shunted me into a dual carriageway while I was stationary at a junction.
Thankfully Jacob was 100% ok in his car seat but I ended up with a sprained back in 2 places and a headache from hell that has lasted weeks. Not to mention my car being written off.
It has been an utter nightmare from start to finish with pain, discomfort and a massive amount of my time being used to sort it out from phone calls to physio and running about to appointments and car viewings.
What has been even more frustrating than the amount of time this has taken up in my life has been the thought of not having a car once the curtesy car and hire car then went back. Trying to organise so many things with no car would have been an utter nightmare.
It took over 3 weeks to pinpoint what car we were going to go for with budget constraints, time and location of the new car and with 1 day to spare with the hire car we discovered something we thought would be out of our budget.
A Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer.
We were introduced to the Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer when we reviewed it for my blog in August 2016 when we test drove it on holiday. We loved it as a family and it packed well with all the stuff needed for a family holiday so it was high on our list of would love to have and thankfully with a day to spare we headed to Wolverhampton to one we had spotted online that we loved.
I have to be honest however and say that buying a car is something I always get worked up over, it involves such a lot of money and getting it wrong means a costly mistake for many years but after reaching out to the company we bought it from on Twitter they made me feel a whole lot better about it.
I will be honest and say I wasn’t really expecting anything when we arrived but was greeted with this:
The smilie face emoji balloon and the ribbons on the car all escorted me the 2 hours home in my new car …
I am immensely lucky to have been able to fall in love with this car (albeit an 18 month newer version) through my blog and I am amazingly grateful to V12 Sports & Classics for taking such good car of me while feeling super delicate having to buy a new car.
We can’t wait to introduce Alice (My cars new name) to the delights of being part of our family for many many years to come!
