Well, I have to say that this post has been a long time coming.
Jacob has tricked us over the last 3 months by being super happy to get onto his feet with the help of his numerous walkers but has steadfastly refused to actually get onto his feet unaided. Someone has either had to hold his hand or he has had to push something in front of him to be on his feet.
Last week we finally got to see just how much more confidence he now has as he set off to his baby walker in one corner of the room to his Daddy who was halfway down the room.
For a spilt second he never even thought about getting to down crawl and just set off unaided and unsupported like it was the most natural thing in the world and in those few seconds my littlest boy went from Baby to Toddler with a smile on his face and the last bit of babyhood went by the wayside.
As much as I am epically excited that at 13 months he is now on his feet a teeny tiny part of me was a little bit sad that my baby is growing up and time is taking no prisoners.
I am so proud of his determination and his abilities, however a small part of me wants for it to slow down just a little fraction and let me take it all in before its gone.
For now however I will just try to take in as much of his little legs still with baby rolls as much as I can before they are soon gone, replaced by little boys legs that are running and jumping before long and leaving me trailing along behind him as he takes on even more adventures on his own feet.
Well done Jacob, you are now my little boy and no longer my baby!
