I was recently asked if I would try the Tommee Tippee Ultra bottle to give my thoughts on it but what is different between this bottle and our current bottles?
Firstly the appearance of the teat, its teat is angled and also off centre and this is the only bottle I have seen like this, but it’s claimed to be a more natural latch with it emulating a more breast like shape, add that to the standard Tommee Tippee shaped bottle and the bottle looks very unique indeed!
As soon as it arrived we tried this straight away with Jacob and he latched on straight away and seemed to suck well throughout the whole feed without un-latching and re-attaching like his others so it certainly did make for a fuss free feed for us, it also seemed like a more like a more steady and sedate feed all round.
Secondly its seal, there has been a contour zone built into the teat to help form a more secure seal when baby is feeding, for this I did notice that there seemed to be less sloppiness round his mouth, in fact we had no extra mouth seepage at all.
Thirdly the Ultra bottle is designed for the perfect flow even for upright feeding all due to the angle again of the teat. We found this really helpful as we have a Reflux baby and he feed better in a more upright position, it also helped that the milk flowed more freely to the very end of the feed as the teat is lower.
If you are a Tommee Tippee bottle fan then you can currently purchase these bottles at Boots in packs of 1,2 and 3’s from £8.99 for a single and £19.99 for a triple.
