OK dear readers I know by now you are all fully aware of just how much I adore cleaning and can be somewhat obsessive with it … however being 6 months pregnant my upright vacuum has become hard work, my back aches and I just can’t bend like I used to so I was really excited to be allowed to review a cylinder vacuum by VAX.
I have in the past tended to shun cylinder vacuums due to old memories of bulky, heavy predecessors in my younger years so I was looking forward to just how it would perform.
When the VAX Dynamo Power Reach Cylinder Vacuum arrived I was sure that the wrong item was sent out as the box was way smaller than I though and after unpacking I was so pleased to realise the vacuum itself is also so much lighter than I had imagined.
The vacuum also comes with 2 hoses, one is an everyday hose which is just short of managing the stairs (or mine in any case) however the second hose that some with it is fantastically long and will tackle stairs easily!
The hoses are a little tight to get in and out for the first few times but this does certainly get easier over time!
Initially I thought this vacuum would be hard work with having something to pull around behind but it has been lovely with the extendable pole I have been able to adjust the hight perfectly so I don’t strain my back. It might be worth noting where the hose fits into the extendable pole … mine was wobble and popped off when I first fitted it together but it seems the only problem was I was not pushing it far enough into the pole.
Using the everyday head I loved being able to get so much closer than the upright vacuum perviously and being able to get under furniture was brilliant.
On the underside of the everyday head slides into the back of the machine and so storing it way you can just slide it in and it holds itself together instead of hoses being left lying around (so no tripping up)
The vacuum is super easy to empty and although I initially thought this vacuum might not be as effective on suction and generally cleaning I was massively mistaken as this is small machine certainly has a very large bite.
I am really pleased to have this in our cleaning arsenal as with baby due early 2016 I have no doubt we will need all the help we can get!
