So when I was asked recently to try out the new Vicks SweetDreams Cool Mist Humidifier with Projector I obviously jumped at the chance … with a baby on the way and winter upon us it really was a no brainer.
The Vicks SweetDreams Cool Mist Humidifier with projector works by adding mist int the room to optimise the right humidity in the room allowing for was breathing and when adding the Vicks scent pads into the machine too you can add the Vicks aroma to the room too, helping with snotty noses!
The machine I was sent was the version with the Projector installed and I totally loved this idea as the images that project were really lovely and clear on the ceiling.
I am going to be honest right off the bat and say when the machine first arrived I was slightly perplexed as I don’t think the instructions help much with set up and rely predominantly on images .. Where I am a words kinda gal. I also found nothing in the instructions to tell me how full is full on the water tank but since the machine is claimed to be able to run for 24 hours on a tank I filled it when Joshua went to bed to 25% full and kept popping back to check then decided to fill it to 90% before I went to bed … I needn’t have worried but it would be super helpful for there to be a max or min marker on the tank so you know …. however this just might be me being slight obsessive.
We decided to use the machine for the first time when Joshua was suffering with a really snotty cold and since it hadn’t arrived on the first night with a cold we did have a little fella that woke several times in the night coughing and spluttering, it had luckily arrived for night 2 and so it was a prime opportunity to see it working and if it made any difference.
After my initial set up issues with how much water to put it in it the machine was then rather simple to operate with an opening on the side for the VapourPads and then it really was a case of turning the dial on the front to adjust the level of mist that comes out of the machine followed by a push button on the top to activate the projector (which was a hit for Joshua)
Overall we personally thought it helped with loosening the snot and he did seem to breathe far easily but I really can’t wait to use it when bump arrives as I remember the first few weeks newborns seem to take a while to adjust to the climate so I think this would be super helpful!
We are going to continue to use through the next few months with Joshua to see if helps in the long terms and are defiantly going to get some more of the VaporPads in so we are fully armed this winter!
